Through prayer, studying, commitment, communication and fellowship, we are empowered to love the unlovable, reach the unreachable, and teach the unteachable. Striving for the excellence of the kingdom of God, we are committed to live our lives as an example of Christ and to commune in brotherly love. Get to Know the Pastor...

Pastor Percy F. P.F. Thomas was born on June 15, 1961 to the parents of Rev. Dr. T.F. Thomas and Mother E.M. Thomas in Waterloo, Iowa.

He was raised in Waterloo, attending his neighborhood schools. Pastor P.F. Thomas was a student at City View Elementary, Grant Elementary and then Mc Kinstry Junior High School. He attended high school at Waterloo West High and graduated in 1979.

Pastor Thomas joined the United States Army in July 1979. Throughout his service to our country, he received many awards and metals. Pastor Thomas has been stationed in Germany, Korea, Saudi Arabia, Fort Hood, Texas and Fort Lewis, Washington. His initial, specific training was in Electronic Repair and later transferred to Meteorological Data Collection (Mr. Weather Man). Pastor Thomas courageously served in the Army for 13 years and 6 months before retiring in 1992.

Pastor Thomas was raised in the church! He started at Payne Methodist, later moving to Union Missionary Baptist Church and then to Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church. At Mount Carmel, he served under his father, Pastor T.F. Thomas. Pastor Percy F. Thomas received his calling into the Ministry in May 2002. He served as an Associate Minister, Sunday School Teacher and Church Musician. In 2011, he started in the Jailhouse Ministry which has grown tremendously. Pastor Thomas has had opportunities within this Jailhouse Ministry, to travel to different facilities, including Anamosa Correctional Facility. There are plans to reach those in Mitchellville in the near future. Since his calling into the Ministry, Pastor Thomas has preached at most of the local churches in our community and has the blessing of all the Pastors in our area! This love and approval is remarkable and appreciated! Pastor Thomas has also preached in many churches outside our Cedar Valley. He became Pastor of Christian Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in August 2013. Pastor Thomas has worked diligently and tirelessly doing God's will and is moving Christian Fellowship to higher heights on so many levels!

While in high school, Pastor Thomas obtained his first real job and worked in the kitchen department and housekeeping at Schoitz Hospital from 1976-1979. He joined the United States Army in 1979 after graduating high school. After retiring from the Army in 1992, Pastor Thomas worked for Peterson Construction and soon after in 1993, worked for IBP Maintenance. From 1993-1994, Pastor Thomas was employed at Nestle's Beverage. In 1994, Pastor Thomas started with the United States Postal Service (USPS) and is currently with this organization in Waterloo.

Being presently employed with the USPS as a mail carrier, has afforded Pastor Thomas with so many opportunities to reach and connect with our community. On his route, he talks with people, prays for people, encourages people, laughs with people, and hears sad news from people about their illnesses, family issues, financial and emotional concerns. Pastor Thomas is also able to celebrate along with the many joys his customers share with him. While he battles various weather elements daily (wind, rain, snow, ice, hail, heat, etc.), he surely is able to touch people's hearts and souls and show the love of Christ that is in him!

Pastor Thomas plays a mean guitar and has a great voice as well! Pastor Thomas was a member of the gospel quartet group, Reverend Clarence Williams and the Rising Sons, from 1994 until 2015. This group had many accomplishments. They have completed two CD projects which are played often on many radio stations. They have also completed one demo project. The Rising Sons also has a Certified Incorporation and 501c3 nonprofit classification. This group has opened for many well-known artists, such as Lee Williams, Doc McKinzie, The Five Blind Boys of Alabama, The Williams Brothers and BB King. They have sung all over the nation!

Pastor Thomas is married to Elisabeth Thomas and they reside at 1520 Franklin Street in Waterloo. They have been able to create a beautiful home for the past 23 years, making two major additions to their home with many upgrades. Their family consists of one son Kevin who lives in Texas, along with another son, Cary who is stationed in Afghanistan. They also have one son, Tyrone and one daughter, Keila who live in Waterloo. Fishing is one of their favorite passed times as a family. Our First Family has been such a blessing to Christian Fellowship! We are so grateful for them!

Pastor Thomas states, My wife and I have been truly blessed over the past 25 years of marriage. All thanks and praise belongs to our God and Lord Savior Jesus Christ, from whom all blessings flow.
